Black men and white women

This is the most commonly examined of interracial relationships. The question of why do black men date white women continues to headline in magazine articles, television and radio talk shows, in books, and in essays and other writings all over the internet.

In an article printed at the web site www.k-k-k.com, a writer, apparently representing the voice of the KKK, expresses in dramatic terms how the choice of some white women to date, marry and procreate with Black men is resulting in the decay of civilization.

One of the article sub lines asserts that famous scientists once warned that interracial breeding would lower the quality of the White Race.

While the views expressed in this article are more or less extreme, black men white women relationships continue to raise strong objections on both sides of the issue.

On the part of Whites who object, reasons for the objection include arguments that God did and intend for Whites and Blacks to mix, that Black culture and White culture are so different as to doom any interracial relationship to failure on the basis of the cultural differences, that life for any children produced from this union will be unfairly difficult, and less blatant allusions to the impact on the White race at large, the supposed genetic inferiority of the Black race and how this inferiority will impact of the affected White family that will suddenly have Black grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins....

On the part of Blacks who object, reasons include the argument that when Black men choose White women over Black women, they are in essence supporting the media's negative portrayal of Black women. Some famous Black men who choose to date only White women have been known to publicly malign Black women, castigating and stereotyping them in the same manner that they themselves object to being castigated and stereotyped. Many Blacks feel that interracial dating of any kind directly impacts on the Black psyche that is already very sensitive thanks to years of oppression. Interracial dating is like having Black people themselves going out and admitting that the Black race is worthless and the White race by contrast is superior.

There is a particular aspect of black men white women relationships that is not often addressed. That is, when mixed-race Black men who are the product of a relationship between a White woman and a Black man date and/or marry a White woman.

These men, forced by society to identify as Black, have been raised by a White woman and have subconsciously formed their ideas about the ideal woman based primarily on the images and ways of their mothers. It is perfectly natural that they would gravitate towards White women. And the fact is, the majority of biracial (black-white) children in this country come from black men white women couplings as opposed to white men black women couplings.

Notwithstanding the significance of this particular aspect of interracial (black men white women) relationships, the fact still remains that image plays a huge part in the choice to date only White women that is made by an increasing number of black men.
